iPhone app with a cloud database?

I'm interested in creating an app (iOS, swift) that will update its content (images/text) from some sort of database automatically once connected to the internet. I would like to make changes to that database daily from my phone or computer and have my changes applied instantly. Can anyone guide me on the right path? How would I go about doing this?

P.S. I have heard of Parse, and I've used it a bit to store log in credentials from an app. I'm looking for something of the opposite effect. Database data to App instead of App data to Database. I've been looking on Parse, and I don't quite understand their lingo. Perhaps the answer I'm looking for is right in front of my face, and I just don't see it.

P.P.S. I had the idea of creating a website and just incorporating a little browsing window in the app to display the website. But there's gotta be a more efficient way of presenting dynamically updated content, right?
